Winona-Ryder

Winona Ryder is the professionally-known name given to Winona Laura Hoowitz. She was who was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents of Winona Ryder chose her name after the town she grew up in. Both her father Michel Horowitz, and mother Cynthia Palmer are authors and editors. Ryder's father was born into a Jewish family. Ryder considers her self Jewish. Uria Ryder is her younger brother. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are Ryder's half-siblings. Ryder and her family relocated to California's Mendocino County at the age of seven. Ryder was just seven. There, they didn't have electricity. Ryder was a voracious book reader because there was no television. In 1983 when she was 12 Ryder was accepted into the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. She landed her debut role on the big screen in 1986 when she was 15 years older. Ryder faced bullying in high school. She thought that by becoming an actor her behaviour would be changed. Unfortunately, that did not occur. However, she was determined to pursue her goals. Her breakthrough came in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice in the year 1988. Ryder kept playing successful roles in several movies. In 1993, Ryder was nominated two times for the Academy Awards.
