Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the US. she is currently president and controlling shareholder of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is a native of California and was raised as an heir to a prestigious family. Jerry Buss is her father. He was a real estate tycoon, and later the owner of Lakers, among other businesses. Her parents parted ways in 1972 which made her feel like she was abandoned. She joined the family business in the age of 19 to become the general manager for the Los Angeles Strings tennis team. After that, she established in the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She was president of the Great Western Forum, before becoming Vice President for the Lakers. Buss' father died in 2013 and the Lakers were passed down by her as well as five of her siblings via a trust. Each sibling had equally many votes. She was named president of Los Angeles Lakers.
